This thing performs very well with nice features for a $30 radio. I really enjoy the RF gain feature.
What else can I say but to give 5 stars. so you can't tell it's powered.
Okay, having to change to One-Niner every time I get in my pickup is a bit annoying but if you want you can plug it into a main line in the box. I left it on PA accidently (the channel LED's go out in PA mode.
Changed it back to the switched power in the fuse box as I would rather deal with this "feature" than have my battery go dead.My dad had a Midland in 1974. This is small, light weight and very functional from a company with a tall reputation of high quality electronics.This and a Little Wil (mag mount antenna) and you're in business for under $75.
I haven't used the PA function yet, but I plan to eventually. I bought this to use in my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. I'm very happy with the way it works, I don't have problems hearing anyone and vice versa. It works great using my magnet mount antenna. I didn't use the included mounting kit (I removed the ashtray from my dash and the fit was perfect).
A super price. It works just great. I bought this to use as a base station in my home and to communicate with my portable CB in case of emergency when I'm working on the land. I had to provide 13.7 VDC power with an external supply of course. It feeds a homemade 18 ft half wave vertical dipole. This is a pretty basic unit but gets the job done.
The item looks great and arrived on time. Looking back, the description doesn't indicate one, but I'm not sure "Easily installs" is accurate. The only surprise was that I had to permanently install the unit. It did not have a cigarette lighter attachment to power it. I have to look up how to install it on my car, so haven't gotten a chance to use it yet. I just wanted others who may be looking for a CB for occasional use to understand that it doesn't come with a cigarette lighter attachment.
This product was very well made, very good sound quality, and it was easy to install taking around 30 minutes or so to get the product installed into my vehicle.
